EXPRO TEST WINNER
Benchmark Tests of EXPRO’s Formulation
To ensure EXPRO’s superior performance and eco-consciousness, the formulation has undergone several tests. The water-repellent has been compared with five competing products on the market. The tests, conducted and quality assured by the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), encompass water repellency, contact angle (beading effect), and biodegradability. These tests are internationally standardized, ensuring reliable and comparable results.
SPRAY TEST / Wetting Test (ISO 4920:2012)
Method: Evaluates the water-repellent properties of textiles using a spray test.
Materials tested: Cotton canvas and polyester shell fabric.
Procedure: Six different formulations were tested
Identical application method, quantity, and distance were used for all products and materials. Conducted at room temperature to simulate real-world conditions. Minimum reaction time of 16 hours. Reference values according to AATCC standards (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists).
Results: EXPRO was the superior performer for both materials.
CONTACT ANGLE / ROLL-OFF TEST (ISO 19403-7)
Method: Measures the roll-off angle of a liquid droplet on a solid surface to evaluate water-repellent ability.
Materials tested: Cotton canvas and polyester shell fabric.
Procedure: Six different formulations were tested
At least five measurements per material and formulation.
Results: EXPRO demonstrated superior water-repellent properties for both cotton and polyester fabrics, outperforming the other five formulations.
BIODEGRADATION TEST (OECD 301 D)
Method: Assesses the biodegradability of chemicals by measuring how well a substance breaks down over 28 days.
Results: EXPRO’s formulation exceeds the minimum requirements for certification, confirming its ability to break down naturally.
EXPRO Formulation
EXPRO is a groundbreaking formulation designed with sustainability and performance in mind:
- Water-based and solvent-free: Safe for both users and the environment.
- Natural ingredients: Reduces environmental impact.
- Biodegradable: Meets the requirements for OECD 301 D certification.
- Vegan: Contains no animal products.
- PFAS-free: Avoids harmful per- and polyfluorinated substances.
These features make EXPRO an environmentally friendly and high-performing option for textile surface impregnation.
